The Daily Journey has been inspiring readers with an on-line presence since 2001. It all started in 1996 when the author, Gail Lindsay, had a special visit at Disneyland with a dear friend and her son, Michael. Michael's mom displayed such love and kindness as she devoted all of herself to providing him the best in face of his challenge with autism. 

Gail was very moved and the poem, "A Gift From Heaven" (below) was placed on her heart. This was followed by many others and the realization that God had given her the gift of writing. Michael also is very gifted! He is an amazing artist with his own blog. 

Gail lives in S California and is blessed to be married to a wonderful man for over 29 years. She is the mom to three children and grandmother to two. She is a registered nurse working as an administrator. She finds time to pursue a passion for writing and reading, especially about leadership, an area in which she earned a Master's degree from Chapman University. 

A Gift From Heaven

He was different than the others.

He needed special care, so God sent him special parents 

to watch while he was there.

They loved him more than life itself, 

but sometimes wondered why,

God had sent this special child to them 

from heaven up on high.

He is a gift, you see, from up above.

Sent from Heaven just to share your love.

You have the kind of spirit that he needs, you see

He is a gift from Heaven, from heaven above.

Now this child God has sent to you 

because you are special too.

You have the kind of spirit 

he will need to see him through.

Not just anyone could raise this child

the way God would want them to.

He's counting on you to do the best that you can do.

God will help you all along the way. 

He will never leave your side.

He is watching you and smiling in heaven up on high.
